I Spy a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker Giveaway!

With the heat we've been getting lately, there's nothing better than a nice, chilly scoop of ice cream, or perhaps a rootbeer float.

If you follow me on twitter, you might have spotted this tweet.

Beyond the fact that marshmallow ice cream makes me drool at the thought of it… to see that there's an ice cream maker offering for giveaway - WAHOO!

Open to Canada and the USA… I think you should enter!

Summer Giveaway! Win a Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker #yumicecream http://tinyurl.com/bwlcjsm

I'm thinking we have to try the recipe for toasted marshmallow ice cream ASAP.

Enjoy!

Well did you know? Mennonite Girls Can Cook! Seriously!

I've had the Mennonite cookbook "Eating More With Less" for quite some time. It isn't a Gluten Free cookbook, per se, but it IS a guide to eating living well, with less, and with less-eaten foods. (Think pulses people… nothing gross here)

Imagine my surprise that There's a BLOG! AND (huge bonus here) there's a GLUTEN FREE section of recipes! WHEEEE!

Check out Mennonite Girls Can Cook blog and see for yourself.

I just love to share a good thing… and the recipe posted today… looks like a really good thing - and has a Gluten Free version!  The one I saw earlier for Balsamic Chicken… I have so many recipes to try…

Interesting new gluten free blog for you to check out

Well if you can't laugh about being celiac/gluten intolerant, then you should go sit in a corner away from the rest of us.

This blogger has the 'tude to make you laugh until you weep.  We've all been there… glutened by accident, well, her account here was a real crowd pleaser with a few friends I shared it with this morning.

Her blog Are you Freaking Celiac? has a dose of humour, (and a few F-bombs) with a side of good information.

Check it out!

Found a new blog I think you'll enjoy!

Gluten-Free on a Shoestring.  Although she's an American blogger with access to different flours than we have, she has some very interesting comparisons, breakdowns of cost per cup, and some recipes I want to try!

Take this Puff Pastry recipe.  Sure, I scrolled through it - and then went "Hmmmmmm".

Cheese Straws?! WELL! I think I'm going to give it a try when I'm finished these last few Census holdouts in a week.

OH, and she's written a cookbook… While I don't think I need *another* cookbook, I might consider it if this turns out well.

Cheers!

Urban Chicks! (Not in Edmonton… yet!)

One of my favourite blogs to read (when I have time) Is Steamy Kitchen by Jaden Hair.

And timely too! A blog post about Baby Chicks Arriving in the Mail! She decided to add to her flock of 5 existing hens, and she posted the CUTEST video of 2-day old chicks arriving from the post office.

I hear through a little birdie that Edmonton might be amending our bylaws in the near future to  to allow urban chickens… crossing my fingers and looking for ward to a hen husbandry class in the near future!

Go River City Chickens!
