Correlation between antibiotic use & Celiac Diseas

A tweet from Peter Bronski (@peterbronski) just shared this link:

From BMC Gastroenterology: researchers identify correlation between antibiotic use and #celiac disease.

Peter notes only correlations, not causality. Still… that's pretty convincing for me.

As a child I had chronic ear infections & tonsillitis.

Now Medical professionals - let's fix it! Prevention is 100% the cure for kids who can avoid this delightful daily dance of "is that safe for me to eat?".

Support your Celiac Association… research is where it's at.

I, for one, can't wait to see what's coming next.

  1. This is really very interesting. I had reocurring use of antibiotics for bronchile infections. This does make one wonder. I know that long term use of antibiotics can rid your body of good bacteria and then you may need to take probiotics to replace the good.
